Annabawi: Islamic Education Management Journal (IEMJ) is a peer-reviewed academic journal. This publication ethics statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of all parties involved in the publishing process—authors, the editor-in-chief, editorial board, peer reviewers, and the publisher. This statement refers to the COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors to ensure integrity in scholarly publishing.


Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication

Publishing an article in a peer-reviewed journal such as IEMJ is a key contribution to the development of a coherent and respected academic knowledge network. It reflects the quality of the work and the credibility of the researchers and institutions supporting them. All parties involved in the publication process must agree to uphold the highest standards of ethical behavior.

The editorial team and publisher of IEMJ are committed to ethical oversight at every stage of the publication process and ensure that editorial decisions remain independent of commercial interests such as advertising or reprints.


⚠️ Allegations of Research Misconduct

Research misconduct includes but is not limited to:

  • Fabrication or falsification of data

  • Plagiarism

  • Misuse of citations

  • Duplicate or redundant publication

  • Authorship manipulation

When misconduct is suspected, the Editor-in-Chief will conduct an investigation guided by COPE procedures. Submissions found to involve misconduct will be rejected, and previously published papers may be retracted with appropriate notices.

The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for deciding which articles are suitable for publication. The decision is based on the manuscript's academic value, originality, relevance to the journal's scope, and contribution to the field. Legal considerations such as copyright and libel will also be taken into account.


???? Complaints and Appeals

IEMJ ensures a clear, fair process for handling complaints related to editorial conduct, peer review, citation manipulation, or editorial bias. All complaints will be handled in accordance with COPE's recommendations.

Editors assess manuscripts solely based on academic merit without discrimination on the basis of race, gender, religion, ethnicity, citizenship, or political views.

All submitted manuscripts and related communications are treated as confidential by the editorial team and reviewers and are not shared outside the review process without permission.


???? Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Unpublished materials disclosed in submitted manuscripts must not be used in any editor’s or reviewer’s own research without the author’s written consent. All participants must disclose potential conflicts of interest.

  • Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Peer reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and improving manuscript quality.

  • Timeliness: Reviewers who cannot meet the review deadline must inform the editor promptly.

  • Confidentiality: Manuscripts received for review are confidential documents.

  • Objectivity: Reviews must be impartial and supported by clear reasoning.

  • Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers should point out relevant citations not included by the authors and flag any overlapping content with other publications.

  • Conflicts of Interest: Reviewers must recuse themselves if there is any conflict of interest.

  • Reporting Standards: Authors must present accurate research data and analysis.

  • Data Access: Authors may be required to provide raw data for editorial review.

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Manuscripts must be original and properly cite any referenced work.

  • Multiple Submission: Simultaneous submission to multiple journals is unethical and not allowed.

  • Acknowledgment of Sources: Proper citation of influential work is mandatory.

  • Authorship: Authorship should reflect actual contribution to the work. All authors must approve the final manuscript.

  • Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose financial or personal conflicts that could affect their manuscript.

  • Errors in Published Work: If an author discovers a significant error, they must inform the editor immediately for correction or retraction.

  • Ethical Oversight: Research involving human or animal subjects must have ethical approval. Authors must disclose any sensitive or confidential data used in their study.
